Lately the word Change seems to be the focus of many of the politicans running for office and of course once they are elected ya never hear the word again till the next election. The only thing that seems to change is higher taxes, more homeless and another war. Seems like they are more concerned about maintaining the status quo rather than making any fundamental changes that would improve our living standards.
On the other hand, I am perfectly aware that we are blessed to be living in a free society with many benefits, however there is room for improvement, and I believe these politicans should be held more accountable for their actions or mostly inactions
Now many of you may say Borty you live in Canada ..what do you know about the USA....well folks the same scenario is happening here...lots of promises of change but very little action.
In my own life change came very slowly for me. First of all I had to realize change was needed and secondly I had to make a plan to better achieve my goal, and thirdly I had to implement my plan one step at a time. In other words change for me didn't happen over night. It was a gradual process and yes I needed to be held accountable to myself, otherwise I would become derailed and loose my direction.
My question is why aren't these elected officials held accountable after all aren't they supposed to be the representatives of the people...or is that just naieve thinking.

I agree with you, Borty. All politicans should be held accountable. Seems like it gets worse with every election every two years.

All politicians are crooks and liars. Oh they may have some good ideas but don't forget they have to get their ideas through The House and The Senate before they can do anything. That's of course unless your name is Bush then he can break the fucking law and get by with it and no one will do a damn thing about it. I think the President should be held accountable for his actions just the same aas you or me and if he fucks up or breaks the law then he to should face the consequences. I think it's time that the people take back this country and give all the politicians jobs as pais help such as butlers, maids, gardeners and shit. Why in the fuck do we need so many fucking politicians anyway. All they are doing is raping the American people and it seems no one is doing a damn thing about it. Sorry!!! I could go on and on but what the fuck good would it do. You are absolutely right borty and something needs to be done. Here's yer kudo.

No politician ever runs on the platform of everything fine and I won’t change a thing!
Max49 is absolutely right it is very very hard to make any changes with the bureaucracy of our government. I don’t even want to get into Bush and the stuff he’s done, the Presidential signing statements alone are enough!
To say nothing of everything else.
Ok I’ll stop now.
Good Blog!

Yeah when you look at governmental systems you gotta realize one or two people are banging heads with 100 Senators, 435 Representatives and all of their big business constituents who are paying them to vote as they wish.

It's a disaster just looking for a place to happen. So.. Borty.. I'm taking up a collection to buy this island off the coast of mexico.. you want in?

I agree with you 100% concerning personal change, that is how I did it. Here's an idea; what if they held an election and nobody voted. Now that would send a message
