CasuallyLooking inspired me to write a blog...YEAH HER!!!

This isn't an addition or addendum to her blog...I just started thinking about the different rooms in my house while reading it.

Most of my time while at home is spent in my kitchen. It's big, spacious...with lots of windows. Whenever we have company...this is where we congregate. Kissy once said we were both 'kitchen mice'...since she's the same way. Oh computer happens to be in the kitchen too...I've been known to eat supper either at the computer desk...or by turning my swivel chair around to face the kitchen table!

But when I want some quiet time...I retreat to my bedroom. I have a queen size bed with lots of pillows and big comforters, quilts and blankets that I burrow under...until I get too hot in the middle of the night then Canu gets buried! I read in bed, and have been known to spend an entire weekend in there with a good book.

After we moved in here, but before we got cable, the living room was the least used room in the house. Well, it still is...I only watch a few shows on t.v., and Canu is usually asleep before any of his favorites come on. The kids are either playing video games in their rooms or playing music in one form or another in the basement. Oh...the basement? That's one place I rarely go, not because I don't enjoy the music, but...have you seen the pictures? Every time I go down looks different! That is Canu's realm, I don't mess with it!

Of course, we have this big ass bath tub, but once I get's so hard to get out! And since the bathroom itself is an addition to the house, it's not very well insulated and it tends to get cold in there this time of year. I swear that room is haunted!

All in all...I like my house. It's big enough for all of us...with room for company. I don't worry about making it like BH&G...ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you my house is usually cluttered at best. Unless my dad or Canu's parents are coming over...then we're like "Flight of the Bumblebee".

So, if anyone ever decides to visit da six one prepared! My house will be messy, and we will hang out in the kitchen!

Ya know, I'm so used to Daynas blogs that it scares me when I see my name in a blog.....about had a heart

I love hanging out in the kitchen, it's where thoughts seem to happen easier. It's where you can tell your best friend your biggest secret, and it's safer than telling it anywhere else. It's where you make messups with recipes that you can laugh about later....or drop cakes that splatter from one wall to another. It's where you can do the dishes and let some of your troubles go down the drain with the used dishwater.

A family and friends make a house a home, but you'll usually find the closest ones in the kitchen getting closer. Just my $.02.

Excellent blog, Sunny......

thinking about my own house.... hell... I just can't even wait until it sells. I prefer a small cozy house, and I agree.... it is the people that make it a home.... I am not materialistic, so it is nothing fancy.... you couldn't eat of the floor, but it is clear of clutter...

Kitchens fine. ... as long as you keep a pot of coffee on

Jan 12 @ 4:40PM
Chuck, we ALWAYS have coffee on...haven't you heard about Billy's caffeine addiction? I had to get him a new coffee maker for christmas...the kind that dispenses coffee a cup at a time...

We had lots of fun making coffee with it the first time...

Sundance and Canu a house is what you make of it. It sounds like you two have made a cozy home for yourself and the kids.
Very good blog Sundance and a Kudo.
