I watch that show called "Platinum Weddings"...I am amazed at what people spend to get married..My Lord $68,0000 for flowers? The one I was watching today the cost was $850,000...For a few hours?
I was thinking that If I had that kind of money to spend I could have a nice home. A nice car. My bills paid.
If I was getting married and my parents had the money or I did I would not spend it on huge wedding...You can have a nice wedding for a HELL of a lot cheaper.
Or do what I did..Get married at the court house and divorced down the hall in the same court house
I know women dream of big weddings. And so many people go into debt to get married.
My best friend got married about 4 years ago. She had a big church wedding. Horse and Carriage, bubbles, beautiful dress ect. As I was at this wedding thinking of how much it cost I was thinking of what I can buy with the money.
I never wanted a big wedding. Just a few close friends. The point of getting married is because you are in love with the person you are going to marry..Not to show off to other's..Or maybe I am wrong..that never happens
And I am still collecting green thingy's for DeDe

My wedding cost $40; $30 to rent the township's gazebo for an afternoon, and a ten-dollar white dress she looked STUNNING in.
Divorce was $800. Go figure.

I have often said that a marriage license should cost what a divorce does and a divorce cost the same as the marriage license does..........that way people would think more on it before they decided to get married and invest that money in a license............but after reading your blog...........well the $1000 that would be needed for the marriage license would be a drop in the basket to some of those weddings...........
So you just want a simple wedding Tammy, I found the perfect wedding cake for ya...........

and heres a kudo--Now make sure you give this to dede...............

The wealthy already have everything all the material things they want. They don't worry about dropping a little cash on a wedding. Afterall, they have an image to keep up among their peers. I dated a woman whose son married into a wealthy family and she told me all about that wedding.

and a ten-dollar white dress she looked STUNNING in. I find this amazing....they are divorced ,and we all know most of them are no picnic, and he is still man enough to throw a compliment in there about her.....
I think most of the time it's us parents who dream of the big weddings, especially for our little girls...

The cake I saw on that show was not made of twinkies...One had (gold) fake butterfly's on the side...It had 4 teer's and cost about $28,000...For a cake
For that kind of money it better not have any calories in it either

That show features people who are wealthy. So a large amount of money to have a wedding is nothing unusual to them. They have plenty of money to burn.
Put yourself in their shoes. If you had millions in the bank like them, spending $850 K for a wedding, chances are you most likely would spend that amount too.
It may be off topic but, the really stupid thing I see is common working people who live paycheck to paycheck spending $38,000.00 on a dumb car or truck. And making payments of $400.00 a month for it.
People who are wealthy spending huge amounts of money on a wedding? Just a drop in the bucket really.
