One of the blog comments was to keep writing in my blog and participating in the forums. That seems to make sense.
I got two responses on my initial blog entry, and no responses to the e-mails I sent. Of course, I am an unusual kind of person (physically and mentally). There were times in my life when it seemed like I would wind up in an insane asylum, but I really have had a lucky life.
I am sort of a rags to riches story. I grew up in the South Bronx and then later in the projects. Now, I have been a college professor and a software engineer.
After my family moved to California, I did things like taking high school science while in junior high, and community college classes while in high school. That prepared me for college and after an eternity, I graduated with a total of 4 degrees. After that department became a hazardous place to work, I moved on to a private company. I have been part of 3 start-ups and several moderate sized corporations in less than 11 years.
Sometimes, when the company I am working for closes, I yearn for the security of tenure at the university, but then I remember why I left and feel better.
More later.
