It concerns hesitancy and surprising responses. Thought it might be beneficial for some of the members.
I was speaking, the other night, to a lovely and sweet lady I met through this site when I inadvertently let slip one of my "secret" desires.
Don't get all excited, you leches, it doesn't involve industrial machinery, amputee midgets on unicycles, farm animals, or even anything noteworthy. The point was that it was something I don't normally bandy about in public, and very very rarely in private. I quickly attempted to brush the slip off as something I'd come across elsewhere and found interesting, blah blah blah, feeling myself blush guiltily for the small untruth. (and yes, for those of you who're getting to know me, I DO occasionally blush!)
To my great surprise, rather than the expected "EWWWWW!" I heard, "You really like that?" (or words to that affect. The actual quote would give away the secret and we can't have that, can we?  To my even greater surprise, she proceeded to question me with apparent eagerness on the subject. "Hey Mikey, she likes it!"   We continued happily for awhile, and, I hope, are not done with the topic even yet.
The point is that, if I hadn't slipped, we'd have missed out on sharing something we both enjoyed but had been afraid to bring up for various and apparently invalid reasons. This is an adult site, after all, and anybody we encounter here is at least pretending to be an adult. Take a risk whyn’cha?
Now I'm not suggesting you blurt out your secret fantasy involving industrial machinery, amputee midgets on unicycles, or farm animals in the first five lines of your introductory email, but risking the oblique reference, either thrown or caught, might just turn another boring chat into something altogether more satisfying for both you and whoever it is you're with.

That's fantastic.
I once had a friend who said something to the effect of: "It's surprising what you'll try as you get older to make sex more interesting."
The point is, that while sex is good enough as-is, trying something new is a good thing, too. And when you meet someone, their willingness to try new things with you (and vice versa) is a good way to determine open-mindedness of a person.
I'm really glad to see a post like this!

Another decent person here, though I wonder if he read my essay... I made mention of midgets on unicycles... That got my Irish up... in the "other way"

Sometimes one learns interesting things about people because of what they "let slip" in casual conversation. I know that I wind up having some of the most interesting conversations with people over things that they have inadvertently let slip and oddly enough many times the conversations are about things that aren't exactly "run of the mill" things.
Of course I am a bit of an "odd duck" by the standards of most so your mileage may vary.
