Who's going to decorate for Christmas this year, and who isn't?

Anyone have their tree up and decorated yet? Real or artificial?
What's it look like and how big is it?

How much decorating do you do? And when?

I have had my tree up for a week today, but it's not decorated yet. It's 7 1/2 ft tall and about 4 ft in diameter.I have 650 white lights, deep red with gold accent ribbon and bow topper. But that's it so far. It actually looks pretty just like that.
I have 11 totes of lights and misc decorations stacked up in the middle of my kitchen. So I have to get this done ((today)) and the totes out of there. Or my back yard is going to be decorated.....And although it may be quite colorful, I don't think it's going to actually be pretty...

There aren't going to be many gifts under the tree this year, but I love to sit at night and watch the twinkling lights. I'm so easily amused.. lol
Now, if I just had someone to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy it with me.....

I always have a tree & lights etc up..

Right now I have the boxes staged in my living room..I'll put them up this week..

It is nice and comforting to watch the lights flicker and just the whole idea that this is one time during the year a good amount of people are cheerfull...

We have a fake tree we decorate every year, we each get a new ornament to add each year as well. We have a little village we also set up.

That's pretty much the extent I go to but my place is pretty small too.

I'd definately agree with you about the someone to cuddle up with!!

I put out some candles and velvet poinsettias out on my coffee table.. no room for a tree. No gifts this year anyway so no real reason to put one up. But my yule log will be here by gummy darnit.

I get a real tree every year. But over the past two or three years I have been slacking somewhat about getting everything out.

I do a poinsettia in my front window with a flood light, and a nativity on my coffee table. My kids are grown and live in Florida with there families.

I've got a 6ft prelit artificial tree I usually put up...but I'm putting my house up for sale..so I'm going to look into a little table top fiber optic for this year...and probably use the strands of lights I've got out on the front porch. Normally I have garland framing the hallways...my wall mirrors...with little ornaments in it.

Hopefully by this time next year I will be in a new house and can go on a decorating spree for Christmas.

I don't know why I bothered since I am not even going to be home but I decked the halls and sparkeled the walls anyway.

I just put up my artificial tree this afternoon. It's a small one- maybe only six feet tall and I can put my arms all the way around it. My son and I got it all decorated, and at the same time I hung up all my Christmas decorations. I don't put up much, just a few things. But my son and I had a total blast doing it, and now the apartment looks very festive! It matches my mood!

This is the first year since my separation & divorce that I could bear to even put up a tree. I've really pared down my things and mostly just have a tree up & my holiday Little People (yeah, Little People, as in the toy...they are MINE!) out. My tree is artificial, about 6 feet tall and pre-lit. Two rows of branches didn't light up this year but I have enough decorations on it that you can't even tell. Around here we're very big on ornaments and I always get the kids at least one new one each year. So, yeah, the tree is up (it was up the Friday after Thanksgiving). It's a little uneven (the bows, candy canes & ornaments) but the two little people that helped decorate it loved doing it so I will let it stay that way instead of trying to make it look 'perfect'. All the lights are white, including the star on top. I don't know how many there are but it sure can light up the dark living room.

Sorry CL, I don't do anything for Christmas, as I have no one with me. I may put up a string some lights in my apt, but thats it. In the past we used to bring a 9' Balsum or Fir back from the farm - no cone shaped trees for us - and the girls would decorate it. But that was then, this is now.
