I honestly had a good train of thought for this blog, but sadly I think I just derailed it by turning on the TV. oh well. I think it was just continuing my complaining on class. Oh yeah, thats what it was......
Ok, so at the start of the semester, we were told the use of laptops was A-OK, which I was happy about because my handwriting sucks and I honestly can type a hell of a lot faster than I write. So I had bought a laptop at a cost of about $600 or so, which to me is a hell of a lot of money. 2 months into class they tell us laptops have been banned for use in any class save for computer classes due to "the distractive nature by them upon other students" So seriously, what the hell? I know I'm not the only one that was effected by this, nor am I the only one that's pretty pissed off about this. I really don't see what the "distractive" nature is if they're being used for note taking! I'm sure there are some students that just sit around and just do jack and use them for other purposes, but what about us that use it as they are intended? Should it not be the teachers decision and not the schools? I mean I would understand if this was a public school or something, but at a college? That's just plain idiotic! I mean seriously, my laptop is now pretty much useless to me, and im out $600 because the bigwigs at the school are too behind to see that electronic note-taking is a hell of a lot faster and more efficient than handwriting.
