As the Christmas Season approaches, our excitement and anticipation grows, as does our daily schedule what with all the extra shopping, and gift-giving decisions.....

I would like to encourage everyone to take a brief moment to share their good fortune with some who are less fortunate....it will only take a couple of seconds...and the cost is absolutely minimal...

As you rush through Wal-Mart...pick up an extra toy and put it in your basket...then drop it off at a collection center ...there are several around in almost every city...The Salvation Army, the Christmas Angel tree, and, my favourite, The Marine Corps "Toys for Tots"

Maybe even dig through the attic for those old forgotten toys your children have outgrown,

You CAN make a difference in someone's life....

Hello Luv,

Well I have no children, and I do not ever plan on having any. One thing I do enjoy and love most about the Holidays now that I am a bit older is giving gifts. For the past several years I have bought toys for the local Angel Tree we have here in our Mall. I also buy gifts for the Toys For Tots campaign and drop them off in the boxes they have out. I also give to the Red Kettle's every chance I do get as I enter and leave the stores they are at. Our local Mall as has a large Red Kettle set up for the Salvation Army. The mere ideal of a child going without a present of any sort at Christmas should break everyone's heart and bring tears to their eyes. Christmas is about giving. Even those Christians whom believe that Christmas is too Commerical and has lost it's true meaning have to agree that Giving is at the Heart of every man woman and yes child at Christmas time. Giving to others is truly the best gift I can ask for, and the Smiles alone are Thanks enough in my eyes. I hope everyone feels this way. Everyone should

Always With Luv,
Ms. Eva

Every year I buy extra toys and take them to my local Fire Department, for Toys for Tots. I also like the fact I know they are going to kids in my area that need them.
I'm also shopping for a Guy at work whose wife isn't available (she's won't be for 6 months) their daughter is 2 and a half. She needs Christmas and he doesn't have a clue as to what to buy her.

I think that's a wonderful thought. I try to do it every year, and not just at Christmas time, but all year long. Battered womens shelter, homeless,
or just family's that need a little help.

Nice blog. here's a kudo for you.

I do this several times at this time of year, as well as contributing many bags of groceries to food banks. Every year I go through old blankets and jackets as well and give them to salvation army! Its a great thing to do, as any of us who have a roof over head are much more well off than some! Great thoughts! Have a wonderful evening!

You are right! Even when you think you are bad off, it only takes a little bit to make a difference to an individual that has less than you do!

The watering hole I drink at in November and the first 2 weeks of December have down your change for Toys For Tots. When you buy I drink they ask you to throw your change on the flood. The regulars keep the new people from picking it up and we collect several thousand dollars for the Toys For Tots. The marines sent some one out to pick the money up and the toys collected in the donation box. This is a very touching day when they post the collection amount. I also adopt and child from the Baptist Children's Home and get a list of things they would like to have. That has been by most favorite part of Christmas for over 25 years.

My company does a "Giving Tree". I went into the cafeteria on Saturday and pulled a card off the tree. The boy is the same age as my son. I figured he'd be easy to shop for. It tickles me to be able to do something for someone less fortunate.
I also got a free turkey from my company last week. I gave it to my Mom who is putting it into a food basket for a needy family from her church. Single Mom with six kids. She works two jobs and has nothing for extras. So I was SO glad the turkey would go to good use!!!!!
