I hope everyone will take the time to read this. I know this forum isn't exactly a Christian one, but someone might appreciate this. It is what happened to me:

Well, once again just another example of God's amazing powers. I came down with a quite nasty case of bronchitis a couple of weeks ago that put me in bed for about a week. I get it a couple of times a year, but this was by far the worse I've ever been. Couldn't even say a few words without having to gasp for a breath.

Well, I finally got over that and went back to work on 11/5. Arrived at work and found out I got a promotion (actually just making official what I've been doing for quite some time), but it was nice to get the acknowledgement. On Wednesday there was a company-wide staff meeting and I was presented with an award for outstanding achievement. I was a little embarrassed since I love my job so much, it doesn't seem fair to get paid for it.

The shocker came the next day, 11/8. I arrived at work at the normal time, but within 10 minutes, I was having the worse chest pains imaginable. To back up a minute, I've always had heart problems, first diagnosed when I was 18. It wasn't until last year that I found out there was surgery available to correct it. I never understood there were two parts, the electrical and the plumbing. My problems were always electrical. So, in January of this year, I had the surgery to repair the shorts that were occuring. They were so surprised to find five places, but I came through great.

So it was a surprise to everyone when I started having chest pains about a month ago. It only happened about three times, but always right in the middle of the night, 12:45 a.m., 3 a.m., like that. Well it scared me terribly, and I immediately contacted my doctors office to find out what was going on. There was nothing in my history that would indicate another problem, so they scheduled some tests for December. I awoke on 11/8 at 1 a.m. again with pains, and just prayed to God to hold my heart in his hands and protect me.

Within 10 minutes of arriving at work on the 8th, thankfully in a medical facility, my blood pressure rose to 196/116. The nurses put me in a room, gave me nitro, aspirin, and called the paramedics. I asked one of my co-workers to call my parents who live only minutes away. The doctor came in right in front of them and the paramedics, and by 8:49, I was flatline, no pulse, no heartbeat, no respiration. Clinically dead. The last things I remember was hearing one of the paramedics say I was throwing PVC (high heart rates), and I thought I said "I think I'm going to pass out". It only came out as gibberish and then I flatlined.

For the next 36 hours I was in the most peaceful place I've ever been, no memories, no dreams, no trauma, just peace and solitude. I found out they had to shock my heart 7 times in 7 minutes to get it going again. The only thing I can think is that God and I knew there were problems, but in His infinite wisdom, he decided to plan the most perfect heart attack imaginable. One that I would survive, when most don't. I found out my main artery was 100% blocked. Everyone has since told me people almost never survive this type of heart attack. God put me in a place where I would get the medical help I so desperately was needing. When I awoke 36 hours later, I asked where I was, what happened, when could I go home, and that I was starving. My mother laughed for the first time in two days, and said I was going to be alright. Until that moment, the doctors warned her and my father that they didn't know how much damage was done to my brain or heart. We'll find out about the heart in about three months (it's only pumping at half capacity, and I get dizzy and lightheaded walking and standing), but there was NO damage to my brain.

Just another of God's miracles. Thank you Lord for all you do, and may you always get the glory.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Those who are believers will understand, those that aren't will not.
If your attack would have happened at home at 1:00 am, no one would know about it until you didn't show up for work.
One reason why married people live longer then single people is a married person has a parnter to call 911.

My mother suffered an acute anterior heart attack in May 1992. She was also like you, one of the rare ones who survive such a severe heart attack.

Don't ever let the Dr.'s "pooh pooh" your concerns.

I wish you a safe and speedy recovery.

Classact, God must have a reason for you to live. A heart attack is such a life altering event. I have been lucky enough to live though three attacks and a stroke. I like you don't know why God has spared me. I am just thankful to have the time God has given. The best of luck to you I hope they are about to repair the damage caused by the attack.
