The FDA has actual guidelines about "food defect action levels" i.e. how many insect parts are acceptable in a given sample of food. For example, the guidelines allow up to 30 insect "fragments" per 100 grams of peanut butter.
The average American eats between one and two POUNDS of insects per year without knowing it.
Bon Apetite!

And to think that some people actually pay for things like chocolate covered ants and other "gourmet" delicasies.

I'd have to agree with many of the "touch" ones being "possible"....... however a little common sense on a couple others. For instance.......
When swimming, I do NOT drink pool water.... thus I won't be ingesting any urine. Does anyone out there ACTUALLY drink from the pool?????????
RE: peanut butter...... it says 30 fragments are "allowed".... not ADDED. I would be willing to bet that many jars contain NONE at all.
There is a choice to be made here. It is a fact of nature that bugs eat plants. Apples, broccoli, corn...... all the way to zuchinni. Bugs eat plants. You don't want bugs? You have to spray insecticides on the plants numerous times during the growing season. Don't want insecticides either? Well, unless you have your own garden and go out every morning to pick the bugs off....... you'll have one or the other. .02
