To my great-grandfather who fought in WWI.
To my grandfather who fought in WWII.
To my great Uncle, lost at sea on the USS Pillsbury during WWII.
To my Uncle, killed in action during Vietnam.
And to all my other relatives who fought for my freedom as well as those still fighting for our freedom....I salute you on this special day.

Today the Veterans of southern Oregon will parade through Medford and Ashland.. to be greeted by those protesting what they don't understand. Protesting because these self-same men and women put their lives in danger to give them the right to stand there shouting jeers at them.
Don't get me wrong. I hate the concept of war. I hate that people in 'power' think it's the only way to settle conflict. I hate that it happens. But I damned sure will not be one of those jeering at the Men and Women who gave us everything in order that we be able to protest.
Thank you US Veterans for all that you have given.

War is normally not THE ANSWER....
But, as a Vet, I have to support those whose lives are in harm's way each day....fellow servicemembers that allow me to have the comfort to express my views and opinions without the paralyzing fear that an opposing force will attack and bring this nation to a halt.
