Well, we got lucky here in Rhode Island. Noel weakened and although we just caught the edge of it, bringing lots of high winds and some flash flooding, we didn't lose power and traffic now seems to be moving normally out on the streets again.
Damn I really wanted to go pick up my new boots too and now that the weather has settled down here, the stores are closed. But it's not a total loss.. I've got a nice bottle of 1800 silver, along with the mixings for my favorite mango margaritas.
I hope all my New England neighbors to the north fare as well as we did here. Despite the fact that it's no longer a hurricane, its still a really nasty storm. I wonder what the beaches look like?
Of course this blog was not intended to imply that there was no great damage in the carribean or to make light of it...only that we were lucky here. I wish the best to everyone affected by the storms.

I'm glad I live where I do. I spent 12 days in Long Island in 1985 after Gloria hit working 16 hours a day helping to restore the power .Be glad it didnt hit you hard .I'll take PA's taxes and potholes any day over what nature can do .
