I was just sitting and pondering life as I so often do these days, seems the older you get the more you ponder. In my pondering I came up with this list of questions that I ask myself about my life and what I’d do differently if given the chance. Personally I’d do most everything that I’ve done in this life differently if I could. Well all that pondering made me wonder how others would respond to these tough life questions, so here they are. Be honest with yourself in answering them. Thank you.
1) If you could live your life over, what would you do differently? 2) Do you regret anything you’ve done in this life? 3) Do you wish that you could do certain things in this life over? 4) Do you wish you could live you’re entire life over? 5) What have you learned from your time in this life? 6) Would you wish for financial riches or spiritual and emotional riches? 7) Would you treat those closest to you, friends, family and lovers, differently, and if so why? 8) Would you treat people in general differently, and if so why? 9) Would your overall outlook on life change from what it has been in this life? 10) If you could choose how long you have on this earth how long would that be and why?
Peace,
Don

1. Nothing really. 2. Sure, sometimes I have been intentionally mean to people. I regret that. 3. No 4. No thank you very much 5. Life is precious and life is good, even the sticky bits. 6. Can I have some of both please? 7. Nope I would not. 8. Nope again. 9. Depends on if I remade some of the same mistakes or got it right. 10. As long as my body is useful to me.. as soon as I am no longer having fun I would like to go home.

1) If you could live your life over, what would you do differently? I'd learn how to be a healthy person earlier in life 2) Do you regret anything you’ve done in this life? Of course, but those mistakes made me the person I am today so how do I really regret them? 3) Do you wish that you could do certain things in this life over? 1 or 2 but I'd rather focus on the positive not the negative 4) Do you wish you could live you’re entire life over? Hell NO!! 5) What have you learned from your time in this life? Life is what you make it and there is a purpose for everything I just may not always understand the reasoning and that's ok 6) Would you wish for financial riches or spiritual and emotional riches? Spiritual and emotional riches....oh wait I have those, better for for the financial to compliment what I already have 7) Would you treat those closest to you, friends, family and lovers, differently, and if so why? I'd learn to be a true friend or family member earlier in life, much was waisted due to my lack of knowledge/understanding early on in my life 8) Would you treat people in general differently, and if so why? No, i"m not ashamed of how I've treated anyone, I always treat others as I want to be treated. 9) Would your overall outlook on life change from what it has been in this life? Depends on if different events happened, but then I wouldn't be who I am today and I find that sad. I really like who I am. 10) If you could choose how long you have on this earth how long would that be and why? Nope, I want to leave this earth as I'm intended

I've lived a full life and a lot of it has been like a fantasy come true for most guys.. Had a RR band as a teen in LA, all the dope, women and toys that went with it Went to Univ. became a cop, joined military and was a Green Beret..Did a lot of overseas "consulting" in security and did several tours as a NOC/IC in countries few people have heard of.. All in all, pretty satisfying..Biggest mistake..Spending all the bucks I made on parties and a 65' catamaran and sailing the Caribbean for ten years..Instead of investing for my broke dick life now As an old friend wrote several years ago.. I made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast..

Being the sci fi geek that I am (I've come to terms with it and have accepted my inner geek), I can't read questions like that without thinking: if you could change your past life, how that might effect our present.
If you change the past, doesn't the present change too?
That brings up the next question: if you did things differently, and that action changed the present, what guarantee would you have that the altered present would be better than the current one? Maybe it would be worse.
If I've learned one thing from 40+ years of watching star trek, twilight zone, etc., it's this - when you fuck around with the timeline, BAD things tend to happen.
But, since this is a rhetorical question, my answer to 1-4 and 5-9 is HELL YES. May Gene Roddenberry and Dr Who forgive me.

There are a few things I would have done differently when I was in my late teens and early 20's.

Who and what I am now is a direct product of all that I have been. I would change nothing from birth to now, thank you, as I am very happy and comfortable with who and what I have become!

There is only one thing that I would do differently.
She was finishing her last year away at school and asked me to wait. I didn't feel like I could at the time. I threw away the greatest love I've ever known. To this day I compare others to her...as wrong as that is.

This is almost a subset of your "immortality" blog. Although I have made many serious mistakes in life and have regrets, I do not wish to go back. I am gratefull for what I have now and the direction my life is taking. My "hard learned" lessons have and will serve me well.
