Why do people have to play head games. Why can't people just be themselves and be honest. If they are not interested in someone then just be up front and be polite and just say so

I think they like playing the games, to see what they can get out of a person, and i'm not really talking personal possessions or money. Talking things of the heart. They have been hurt so badly, they seem to think its ok for them to do it also. I feel sorry for them, they will never know what its like to really love someone!!!!!! The games they play are for amusement.

It's really sad, that some people are only online to play games.....I am not sure if its do to wanting to have "control" or the "power" to hurt someone or if they just think its cute............or maybe they just need an ego boost.............whatever the reason I think they have mental issues they need to deal with. Great topic, C.

Most people anymore IMHO (and I have noticed this change in the past 20 years) will simply ignore someone and be silent. It happens online in dating things and it happens when applying for jobs. There used to be manners such as, "I appreciate your interest, but am interested in meeting somebody locally." or "Thank you for writing, but I do not really detect the compatibility or shared interests that I desire."
That being said, I don't really see that many people playing games as in telling you anything to get laid. Hell, there are a lot of people that I will banter with online, but have little to no interest in dating. I am sure that many feel the same way about me.
It is kind of like waiting for a flight to begin barding to where you can have a nice conversation with them, but nobody has any intention of it being more than a way to pass the time. Most people know conceptually what kind of person they want to meet and get to know as a prospective dating partner and the vast majority of people are only interested in that.
Now I do realize that there is a community here of friends that totals around 100 or so, but that is out of several thousand registered users.
