Today on AMD-AM I’m giving you a tune that sorta says a lil bit about my mood of late. As some of you know I haven’t been feeling very well and I’m now faced with more of a dilemma. I’m supposed to be moving to GA but now that move may be in jeopardy so I now have to weigh the odds between moving and staying put. I don’t know about you but personally I hate having to make decisions like this. Enough of my problems, on with the music. This selection is by a favorite female composer\singer of mine. She’s: Juice Newton, born Judy Kay Cohen 18 February 1952 in Lakehurst, New Jersey (though she grew up in my hometown, Virginia Beach, Virginia) an American pop music and country singer. To date, Newton has received a total of five Grammy nominations for Best Female Vocalist and a CMA Award for Best New Female Artist. She has several Gold and Platinum records to her credit, including Juice, Old Flame, Quiet Lies and Greatest Hits. Juice Newton, Otha Young and Tom Kealey formed a band in the early 1970's and, due to local success,Juice Newton Silver Spur was signed to RCA Records. The group released two RCA albums (in 1975 and 1976) and scored only one charting country single with "Love Is a Word". The band signed with Capitol in 1977, but disbanded shortly after releasing one album for the label. In 1978, Newton went solo (but remained with Capitol Records), although Silver Spur would remain the name of her backup band until 1982. Later in 1977, the one-off single "It's a Heartache" became Newton's first solo record and a major hit in Mexico, where it eventually went Gold. In 1978, Newton released the song in the United States, and it became her first Hot 100 pop hit. However, Bonnie Tyler's cover of the song was released one week later and eclipsed Newton's version on the pop charts, with Newton's stalling at #86 and Tyler's climbing to #3, (personally I preferred Newton’s version, nothing against Tyler’s cover, just a personal choice.) Also, in 1978, The Carpenters recorded the Newton-penned song "Sweet, Sweet Smile"; the single, which was co-written by Otha Young, reached #7 on both the Country and Adult Contemporary charts and #44 on the pop chart.

Artist: Juice Newton Title: "It's A Heartache"
Album: Greatest Hits (And More) (by Juice Newton)
It's a heartache Nothin but a heartache Hit you when its too late Hit you when you're down
It's a fool's game Nothin but a fool's game Standing in the cold rain Feelin like a clown
It's a heartache Nothing but a heartache Lovin till your arms break Then he let you down
It ain't right with love to share When you find he doesn't care For you...
It ain't wise to need someone As much as I depended on you
It's a heartache Nothin but a heartache Hit you when its too late Hit you when you're down
It's a fool's game Nothin but a fool's game Standing in the cold rain Feelin like a clown
It's a heartache Nothing but a heartache Lovin till your arms break Then he let you down
It ain't right with love to share When you find he doesn't care For you...
It ain't wise to need someone As much as I depended on you
It’s a heartache Nothing but a heartache Hit you when it’s too late Hit you when you’re down
It’s a heartache Nothing but a heartache

Today’s video is Bonnie Tyler’s cover of "It’s a Heartache". I wasn’t able to find a video of Juice Newton performing it. Video clip: Bonnie Tyler And for the ladies; Rod Stewart’s cover of "It’s a Heartache" Video clip: Rod Stewart

I always apreciated Juice Newtons music. I am a huge fan of Bonnie Tyler though. Early in her career she had to have nodes removed from her throught giving her the husky voice she has now. She actually believed that her singing career was over but became even more famous because of her voice. A great talent and wonderful singer, It seams artists today dont have the appreciation for creating there own style that these two ladies did. it is a shame to have so many artists that mimick each other today.

I hope you're feeling better and good luck. I find myself in Georgia often these days. If you do move, then there'll be some fine Georgia Peaches to eat... I know one who expresses interest in having more than one man at a time... I'm just sayin'...

lfe can be tough and it can drive you crazy when have to make a decision that is fraught with stress..
The worst time is during the indecision... once you make the decision, you will feel a sense of relief.
You already know your answer, your gut instinct.... you just have to get your mind in gear..
Good lucks
