I used to think that it was a pain in the ass to shave, so I also went with the hairy look..... but now that I am used to doing it, I find it more attractive on myself and others if it is shaven.... but as already stated..... it is a personal preference

People who take the time to write to say negative things are basically mindless career fist fuckers with nothing better to do than try to put others down to make themselves feel superior.
I can't think of a time, in 11 yrs online when I have ever been on a site where so many people go out of their way to personally email people just to say nasty things. My profile, when you first see it in a search says "I'm not looking, so don't look at me" I had a guy who actually wrote me two days ago to complain that I was wasting his time and shouldn't be on here with that in my profile. I simply replied, "No, it was YOU who wasted your time emailing me, no one made you take the time to send it, you simply could have passed me by." Funny I never heard back from him. 
Don't take it personally, just realize it takes someone with a very small mind to take the trouble to write you crap like that!

Going away from the rant, plus being older, once people have consumated their relationship, they can then begin to negotiate/discuss their preferences. Speaking as the elder statesman here, what ever facilitiates a better sex life prevails, and if shaving by either, usually both parties produces synergies and more an better orgasms, hey, there you are!

I personally do not shave my sack very often anymore. Maybe 4 times a year. About the number of times I get laid by a "real girl".
In my younger days, I was talked into shaving my pub's. It was for my GF at the time. She wanted me to shave it into a heart shape. I said no way in hell was I gonna shave it into a heart.
So there I am shaving my pub's into a heart shape.
18 years later, I am now smuggling chewbacca in my shorts. Amazing how hair grows in darker and thicker once you shave it.
Mom always said to make lemonaide out of lemons, so I now use this forest of a pubic region to gross out the old folks at the nudist colony.
