Everything I kill gets eaten by me. That seems to offend some people aka Amy who is a tree hugger. Well all I can say is deal with it. I hunt and I kill and I do this because I like wild game meat. If you cannot handle this then do not waste my time. It is something I have done since I was old enough to carry a gun and it is something I will probably be doing until I am old and gray. Life goes on and I cannot wait to get in the field on 10-13-07 and see what I can find to put in the freezer. All you tree huggers and animal rights activists can kiss my rosy red cheeks.

I grew up on wild meat and although I am not fond of it now, it was a great way to keep food on the table in the winter!! I think its great that you actually EAT what you kill!! I have an issue with people who just kill something to leave it to rott, I guess that is fun for them!! I admire that you do use what you kill!!

Just my opinion, but to each their own, some people may not like it, but its their choice right! Have a good night!

Happy first day of hunting season (for what? I don't sister was just telling me it was in SD and that she was enjoying the house all to herself 'cause the hub was out, trying to kill something for the freezer). Being a city girl, I don't understand the whole hunting thing but, hey, if you enjoy it and are doing it legally, who am I to complain?

Once in a while, I see deer near the back of my property and some wild turkeys! I'm not a hunter but I do have a variety of hand guns, rifles and a pump 12ga. 'cause I like firing them on a range I go to on occasion! This doesn't mean I wouldn't hunt for food if I were ever in the position where I needed to!

The deer (maybe 5 or 6) walk up and munch on the apples that are on the ground! Maybe next year, I'll set up a little stand with a sign that says: 6 apples- 2 bucks or 10 apples for more doe! Sorry, couldn't help it!

There is nothing wrong with hunting for food. I grew up in Deer and wild boar. We would freeze all the extra fish we caught during the spring and summer and with the garden veggies canned and pickled it really cut down on what we baught from the store. We had chickens for fresh eggs. And I worked on a dairy so fresh milk was always in the house. We raised our own beef and pork and with the Wild boar and deer we never wanted for food. The back strap was always te finest meal from a nice size buck. Hunt away and as long as your not in it for the trophy and leaving the kill to waist, it is probably much healthier than the meat you get in the store.

I put 4 deer in my freezer EVERY year.....I wonder how much certain opinions would change if all the deer in the world began completely destroying and eating all the organic gardens of the world.....

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm from Texas and all my life I heard that Bigger and better in Texas line, but.........if you are gonna hunt Whitetail or Muledeer either one, come farther north to the Ozarks. I've hunted in both me, the deer here make the deer there look like German Shepherds when they're field dressed! Good luck to ya!
