As I sit here bored to death I go to the video's. I find the ones Luscoius posted of Elvis and OH my the memories flood back. I remember the '68 Comeback. WOW when I watch the video of Celine and Elvis I remember sitting in the floor with my sisters and my mom on the couch. I remember mom always letting us watch his movies and or specials. I absolutely adored the man! Then in August of 77 I remember driving down the street and hearing he was dead OMG I started crying turned around and went back home! I wanted my mom and I was 17 years old and I remember that day as if it was yesterday! Things were such simpilar then. Gas was cheaper to oh so were cigerettes. As I sit here and think of my past 30 years where did they go?? I think I was happier and more content up to the age of 26. Then I feel as if I've been in limbo yeah I lived but not like I should have. Has anyone?? Do you ever wonder "what if" you had married that person?or "what if" I hadn't left him?? "what if" I hadn't ran away?? Where would I be now??? I have some wonderful friends some I've had since I was 12 yrs old Elvis where are you now??? Can you imagine the music he could have produced in the past 30 years??? I can't help it I will always love him and his music his best movie??? Think about it he only did one where he didn't sing and that was ....... do you know?? It was Charro!! And he was hot! But I also loved his look in "Change of Habit" huummm he was gorgeous. Have a wonderful night everyone and think of your past and your favorite memory.. well tell me what is it???

I've let myself think of my What If's, Lord knows I've had a few. But then I tuck them away for another day. If I dwell too long on them, they would destroy me and I won't let that happen.

As for Elvis, I was never a fan. Sorry. Although I did stop by Graceland one year on my way back from Vegas. I was sadly disappointed. It was very dirty and unkept. I hear now that it is cleaner and being taken care of, but I doubt I would ever stop again.

Ahhhh, I also love Elvis! I helped my youngest gurl 2 love him also & she is only 19...I think she is more "obsessed" w/ him than I ever was tho. lol She collects Elvis stuff...I got her a Elvis lava lamp for her high school grad gift. Even dead, he will forever be "the King of Rock n Roll"!
Now as far as a trip down memory lane, for me it would have 2 be the day John Lennon was shot. My 1st hubby, my oldest gurl who was only a year old & myself were on our way up 2 Chicago 2 visit his brother, when we heard the horrible news on the radio. We were both so stunned & shocked...we both cried the whole way 2 Chicago. But I'm very partial 2 The Beatles tho, most especially John Lennon...they r my most fav band of all time! Great blog...kudo for u!

Do you ever wonder "what if" you had married that person

Yes, 24 years later I still wonder why I said NO? I think of him all the time, wondering how he is? I heard through the grapevine he never got married. But has had a live in girlfriend for years..

One thing that sticks in my head is the day Princess Diana had her first son. I was walking down a street with a headphone set on when I heard it and it gave me goosebumps.

*Slips a green kudo's on the table*

I've always said I am not a major Elvis fan, but I've noticed if he comes on the radio I will listen to it. If he is on the tv and I walk past, I will stop and watch, at least for a minute. Maybe all of it. I guess I did like him, just not obsessed.
As far as memory lane....We all go there from time to time. Straddle's blog took me there yesterday. But I have too many I should'ves, I could'ves and I would'ves to bring into the present or cloud the future with. Parts of my past were great but I wouldn't be the person I am if I were able to go back. And I wouldn't give up my life today to go back to then.
Yes, the last 30 years have gone by so quickly. But I think I will focus on the next 30 years, with an occassional memory allowed to enter.
Good Blog,Lisa...... Green kudo to you, cause I heard they don't come in any other color. lol

One of my favorite memories invovled getting so high that I don't even know how many times I came that night...

As for The King, I'm paying homage in a song I'm working on for a certain AMD member...

I think South_Of_Main makes a good point...

Great blog, one which is worthy of a kodo...

ahhhh...the what if's!!! Time flys whether your having fun or not. Suddenly you turn around and 30 years have evaporated into thin air. Religious folks believe we have to ask the Creator for everything when in reality we go at our own pace and make our own decisions lest we become robots to a higher power. My "higher power" doesn't mind me making mistakes and knows eventually we will all see our place and purpose....probably not in this plane of existence but later. Religious zealots would tell me that is a religion of convenience. I say it is reality. So the best we can do is keep those memories close to our heart and then try to see the next opportunity for growth. And maybe not let that one get away.

Good blog, Lisa. Throwing a kudo your way!

I do not have to many fond memories of the past; I just look forward to the future.
