Hi all,
I haven't logged onto this site in 3+ months. Three observations (one for each month incommunicado):
1) AMD got a facelift. Hooray.
2) The content of your average blog is approximately the same. That is to say, exactly the same. Nothing wrong with that, just pointing it out.
3) The main consequence of my hiatus was to be stripped of my naked-picture-viewing rights. Rats.
I couldn't visit AMD--couldn't even drop in for a second to say hello--because my life is torture. The mission: subsistence, striking a balance between the competing essential needs of food, water, and sleep, and not receiving an adequate allocation of any. At its worst, mainly in July, it was 100+ hours per week; of note, the legal maximum for a resident is 80 hours per week.
A moderate level of aloofness while actively posting to blogs and elsewhere a few months ago ensured me a grand total of three, count 'em, three messages in my inbox upon my return. The third I couldn't read because its author apparently violated a spamming rule or something and her account was summarily canceled. That's not to say, however, that I didn't miss a lot of you; I really did. And I'm sorry I was such a shitty correspondent, and sorry moreover because after this brief week-and-a-half window of a cush schedule, I'll reenter hell and continue being an even shittier correspondent. For what it's worth, though, I didn't kill anyone (yet); in fact, it turns out I'm pretty good at doctoring. I'm counting the months though, and more grateful every day that I'm going into radiology and not medicine. Holy shit--I couldn't take more than one year of this.
For now, it's just nice to be back among the familiar rants, poems, solipsistic musings, jokes, and even the occasional pissing contest. Oh, and the sex here is great.
Hope to bump into some familiar faces while I'm in town!

Welcome back, however short your return may be.
the legal maximum for a resident is 80 hours per week. I guess, as with any rule, there are exceptions and ways around it. Unfortunate for you and the other residents.
Glad to see you made it through, and without killing anyone else. Yet..
