computer / worm question for

those of you a bit more savvy on the PC then I.
I keep having a box show up, dial-up connection, with the standard fare of windows buttons..
One says settings and if you click that, it brings up internet connection settings as you would expect..
If you hit the X or cancel you end up disconnected in about 45 seconds
I hit connect once to see how bad things would get and it went away for 15 minutes..
Only pops up while I am on the internet and if I put all my working wndows upfront all is fine and you notice nothing different..
I have run AOL spyware, Nortons anti virus and AdAware by lava soft
Any one?

If you have dial-up and this is intermitant, It may be a reconnection notice. Sometimes you can be momentarily disconnected but not know it because your reading a page, Etc. The dialer reconnects you automatically but usually leaves a box on the desk. It could be something totally different though.

try using the "free" virus/worm/trojan scan from panda software. Just put in a hotmail or yahoo email address cause they believe in sending a fair load of emails to you to get you to buy there product. In all truth it is good software, while it only removes virus's it will give you the full path of any malware it finds on your system.

Other utilities you can use are avast's free virus remover, windows defender, or avast home edition free download (install and let it do a boot time scan).
