I just gotta say this.......In 1970, while stationed at Keesler AFB, Ms, I had a roommate who purchased, at auction, a used Air Force computer......When I asked what he planned on doing with it, He said " I plan on setting it up so that people can dial into it on a telephone modem and rent time on it, as well as store their records and business accounts"......Without batting an eye, I responded..."You are crazy...No one is gonna spend money on something like that!!!"

Al Gore the "Father" of the internet?...HA!.....I met the "Father of the internet".....and he's a lovable geek....

Yeah, I'll never forget when I was about 18 and going to put some money into a start-up computer company. I had about $1,000 to invest and figured it was the way of the future. My dad talked me out of it. You guessed it, Microsoft.

Actually Al Gore was a signifcant advocate for high speed national networking long before the creation of the internet also his statement never was how he invented the internet it was taken out of context and played over and over by his political opponents to discredit him

And as a joke in the vein of the whole thing he now says he invented the environment
