Last week I had an unexpected death in the family, so I had to go out of town for four nights. My Uncle died from an apparent heart attack. His daughters found him laying on his hallway floor when he didn't answer his door. After the funeral I stayed to visit a few days.
Normally I stay at one certain hotel when I am there. I like staying in hotels and this one is my favorite. Extremely clean, very nice, huge rooms, microwave and refrigerator in rooms, along with remote tv's with movie channels, coffee pots, ironing boards and hair dryers, beautiful inside pool, exercise room, fantastic continental breakfast, a bar that is open from 5pm til 12 am, extremely friendly staff,--including cleaning staff who will give you extra really soft towels--,if you happened to have forgotten to pack something they usually have whatever it is, huge lobby with a large screen tv-computer w/internet--fireplace, 3 floors all with inside entrances. And if you happen to have a migraine and can't check out at 11:00 as scheduled but finally make it at 2:00 they don't charge you for any extra time. This time they were all booked up. Some sort of a private Harley get together going on. So I stayed at a hotel owned by the same chain. Not the same............. trust me. Not even close. Room was small, no extras except I did have a hairdryer. No extra channels, no large bathroom, no inside pool, breakfast consisted of cereal w/milk and muffins--Yuke-- no fruit no yogurt no juices, no bar. Okay so maybe I'm asking too much or being a snob. But the towels and the sheets were so stiff that I took them to my cousins to wash them before using either. The bed felt like it had bricks under the mattress and the people who worked there didn't seem to be very friendly, when I could understand what they were saying. And NO ONE found any amusment in the fact that my smoke alarm went off at a little after midnight Friday night. Hey the couple in the room next to mine were umm shall we just say still awake, but they sure were bitchy when they ran out the door and discovered the hotel wasn't on fire. Not like I did it on purpose or anything. It was really cold when I got to my room that night, so I figured I would turn on the heat just for a few to take the chill off. I flipped it on and walked away to the bathroom. A big puff of smoke came out and it smelled terrible--like something was burning. The alarm started before I could get to the heater. I heard the people on the one side yelling fire, so they must have heard it too. I opened my door cause the snoke was choking me, so then lots of other people heard it.The desk clerk being the smart person he was, called the rooms right there together to see what was going on. I guess there was no sprinlkler system, cause nothing came on. The alarm quit in about 3-4 minutes and the desk clerk came out to see what was going on.. Smart man Now had this been an actual fire, how much damage do you think would have been done by then? And the fire dept was never called. Now, the topper is they had the gull to growl at me and tell me that I was not allowd to be smoking in a non smoking room... WTF!! I don't smoke, there's a reason I asked for a non smoking room. Duh!! Once I explained what had actually happened they said "Oh yes, that happens sometimes when the heaters are first turned on." they open the doors first to keep it from happening. Oh sure, now they tell me. And the solution so I could get back into my room by 1:30, keep the door opena dn run the a/c for a while. Did I mention this all started because it was so cold in there? Hotel rooms are much nicer when you have someone to share them with.......
Well I guess the good thing was that at least the batteries in the smoke alarm worked. Guess where I won't EVER be staying again!!!!

Sweetie you know my feelings and thoughts on why you were out of town.

And what have I lectured you on, when things heat up that much in a hotel room you need more lubricant.......................I'm just sayin'
