Time again to visit some old friends... The following is a follow up to this one...
Meeting of the Minds...
The Debrief
Brain called a meeting to debrief the team following the event.
“My friends despite a few minor glitches, I’m happy to say the event was a success!”
Heart swelled with pride. He turned toward Brain beaming.
“That is truly good news Sir. I had many feelings that things were as they should be. I look fondly forward to establishing a long term bond with her.”
Brain nodded his approval and agreement.
“Rare as it is Comrade Heart, I believe you and I are united in this endeavor.”
This confirmation was a breakthrough. It had been many years since Heart and Brain could come to this type of complete agreement. Everyone knew a project was on the right track if it inspired the kind of teamwork and co-operation this project seemed to produce.
Brain turned toward the third of the group. His expression changed dramatically, his brow furrowed into deep creases.
“You….”
Penis looked up at Brain. His eyelids drooping, he looked as though barely awake.
“You Sir, were no help at all last night!” Brain’s fists balled up. This happened a lot whenever he addressed Penis.
“What do you mean? I did nothing wrong. In fact I did everything you asked me to.” Penis replied.
Brain rolled his eyes. “That may be true Sir, but do you understand what kind of a distraction you were? Every time it was dear Comrade Heart’s turn to make an address you would sneak off script and start to rise! Every time I would yield the floor, you would see it as your opportunity! It was all I could do to keep you down! You were a tremendous distraction, in fact there were several occasions where it was nearly all I could do to keep you in your place!”
Penis yawned.
This infuriated Brain. “You did nothing to help our cause! How could you possibly be so tired?”
Penis looked at Brain and Heart. He squirmed in his seat a little.
“Every time Heart spoke, she made these little sighing noises and her breasts heaved. I thought that was my damn cue! I mean why do you guys even bring me on these things all this stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down! I’m so tired all I can do is sit here and drool!”
Brain considered his response. “You are invited to these events as a contingency only! You will mind your manners and only take orders from ME! Is that understood mister?”
“Yes Brain…” Penis replied. Deep down Penis was stating to get a little fed up with Mister Know-it-All there. He comforted himself with the knowledge that things would be different at the next event. Next time he would make his presence known to all. Next time when Brain and Heart were all tied up with feelings and thoughtfulness, he was gonna make his move. Things were gonna change alright…
