Okay having worked at a greenhouse/florist for 9 years I have seen flowers sent for just about every reason there is. However it is usually a man that sends flowers for birthdays, valentines day, sweetest day, I love you flowers, thinking of you, thanks for a wonderful time flowers and just because flowers. A few women send them but not a large percentage. Personally I think that stinks.. Women get all full of smiles when they get flowers and can't wait to tell the world. Okay, most women. They get all excited, smiley and happy.I have had men come in to pick up an arrangement and go on and on about how pretty it is, especially roses. No, not all men enjoy flowers but do you know if yours does?

So ladies, when is the last time you sent a man flowers? For what ever reason...or even no reason other than you were thinking of him and wanted to cheer his day?

I am seperated as you know, but i take my husband flowers everytime I go to visit him in the nursing home, when we were married and living together, I bought him flowers all the time. He picked me wild ones. And both gestures made us happy. I love giving flowers especially roses, and find that I do that for birthdays of friends and of men I am involved with (OK!! SO ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I SENT ANYONE A FLOWER!!)lol I also love giving them to my children, both my son and my daughter. They are the best way of saying i was just thinking of you and i wanted you to know i love you.

Great question!! I tend to love men who don't really go for flowers, so I find other ways to always remind them how important they are to me.

Everytime my guy leaves my house (or I leave his) I leave a note somewhere in his bag, wallet, and he knows to expect it so he's always looking. I love doing this for him. I also make cards so I like taking time to make a special one for him so he knows how much he means to me.

I do agree that we can't only expect one person to always going the extra mile to show how important the other is to us, we all have to be proactive. I ask myself all the time what I can do to make him feel better.

I last sent a man flowers in 2003. A man that I cared very deeply for was in the hospital with severe heart problems, when I mentioned bringing him flowers he got all huffy and insisted that I not! So I cheated, I took him a large fruit basket, a stuffed "mad cow" (he was a dairy farmer) and the flowers I took for his nurses to enjoy!! He later admitted that he loved them, just didn't want to seem too feminine!

Its nice for everyone to feel special at some time, whether it be by flowers, or notes or just doing his or her favorite things together. I have in the past brought an ex , a single rose, with a little note attached, just saying how special he was, that he was thought of often. Always brought a smile to his face!

I've always believed in doing things to show the man I care about that he is special. Flowers, notes stuck here or there,a card but it has to say just the right thing, surprising him with his favorite new CD,candle lit dinners, a picnic in the middle of the livingroom floor on a rainy day, a surprise get away for the night, hellium balloons delivered. All it takes is imagination and wanting him to know he is special and you thought of him......... Hell it doesn't even have to cost anything. Except for maybe a little bit of your time. And don't we all like it when they do little things to let us know that we're special??

The quickest way for me to drop a man like a hot rock is for him to send me roses. With the exception of wild roses I LOATHE the damn things. Beyond that though... I like flowers. Send them to friends and family a few times a year "just because".

Well I have to admit that I worked for a florist delivering flowers for about 6 years. I loved that job and am sorry I ever quit. I am one man that does love flowers and I don't care what anybody thinks of me for it. I have a greenhouse right now that I grow flowers along with the vegatables for my garden in and don't intend to stop any time soon. So here's to everyone that loves getting flowers. Sorry that's the best I can do with the emoticons here. Thses are for you Trease along with a kudo for posting this.
