Monogamy is a word used to descibe something virtuous. Some great aspect of a human spirt. Monogamy is a result, not a path. I'll argue the point a little. In order to be monogamous, you must behave in such a way. It is the past tense actions or lack there of that create monogamy. Hence monogamy is a result.
Commitment is a word used to describe the future. You make a commitment to be or do this in the future. A commitment must describe the future. If you only commit for the time your thinking of it, then your not really commiting.
So, to be monogamous you must commit to it. Which results in Monogamy = Commitment.
Previously, I told a tale of wanting a FWB with what sounded like monogamy. As Seli put it so well, monogamy without commitment.
What I speak of is being with someone without the trappings of expressing feelings. I would think that most of us can say, we've been broken hearted at least once. Before you get the idea that I am jaded, let me just say that I have been used and abused at least once before. I don't care about them any longer. That part of my past. But, much like the lesson I learned when I pisses on that spark plug on a dare, I'll think twice before standing on the hood with my pants around my ankles.
So, whats a poor boy to do. Can't piss on a spark plug again. But wants to get the car started again.
You date someone without getting emotionally involved.
