Naked skateboarder stopped by police in Vermont......not because he was naked!!! posted 7/17/2007 10:54:03 PM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse   Loveyoulongtime2 BRATTLEBORO -- A naked skateboarder was stopped by police July 10 and given a warning -- skateboarding is not allowed on sidewalks and he was in danger of receiving a $25 fine. BRATTLEBORO, Vt. - Topless women on parade? Fine. Teens loitering in the buff in a parking lot? Groovy. Naked sunbathers at swimming holes? Fab. But a geezer walking through the center of town wearing only a fanny pack? That's where liberal Brattleboro draws a fig leaf. The town, which has allowed public nudity, is finally moving to ban it after complaints from tourists about some less than attractive nudies. So much for strip and let strip. 	being originally from NY state, I used to to travel to Vermont quite often, and I never saw any of this good stuff!!!! Also, it hasn't been very warm up there lately..... aren't these people cold!!????

	it's simply a clash between common decency, and Common Sense. while the town has no nudity law, per se, they didn't want to become known as a place where dirty old men in Fanny Packs, & Floppy Plicks could just stroll around among the Earthlings. in the second story, the man confronted a local, female store owner on the street, and repeatedly tried to get her to look below the border, which she declined to do. so my point is this: do you want to be walking down the street and have to look at that? Is that freedom of expression, or grounds for mental investigation? Shouldn't there be a law against old men in thongs? Against old women in bikinis? scratch that.

	Thanks for the comments! tetons is right about decency and common sense. People shouldn't be walking around on main street naked even if there is no law prohibiting it. They are in the process of making some laws prohibiting nudity from some areas because some people have no common sense. I guess the old man was not their idea of eye candy, and coming from Arizona just to strut his stuff didn't go over well.
