This past few days we have witnessed a blogger become very irrate over some precieved injustice, went from scarey to hell in a hand basket very quickly . Scared me a bit I tell ya , yea I laughed and posted, figuring if you keep them posting at least they are still some what trackable...So my next question is , just how nuts do you let someone get, even if its just words? If you see they are sliding south fast, do you blow the whistle and to whom? This chasing and harassing is new to me, so really I dont know where to say , hey hold it while I call the paddy wagon .......(patty?) (paddy)

Due to a situation a friend of mine was recently involved in with threats made online through email......all parties were told that when those threats are going across state lines, it's a Federal Offense!! Charges weren't pressed at this time, but the person sending the threats was informed just one more incident and FBI would be knocking on his door. Apparently it is taken very seriously these days! I know it makes me feel a little safer!

From what I've seen on this site it seems that all of you love messing with,I think you call them trolls. At least that is what another member told me they were called.I for one will not mess with an unknow person of questionable mental or emotional problems.

Most law enforcement detachments have special units designed to track and collect evidence on internet crimes such as harassment and threats of physical violence. The laws are are no different than those of the street. If my neighbor was harassing me with threats, I would have no hesitation in reporting it...same go's with the internet.

Excellent answer Borty.
They also track stalkers. It's a serious offense.

Maggie, they are always trackable, whether they are busy posting or even once they are no longer on a site.

Maggie I think Borty gave you the best advise.
And what he said is very true.
