If I was the judge I would have doubled her sentence and gave her 190 days and when her mother come bitching about it I would have found her in contempt of court and put her in jail with her.

I think she was targetted because of who she is. I hate drunk drivers but I've never heard of one being sent to jail on a first or second offense. I was in court once and saw the judge sentence a 7 time offender to parole. A quick glance through the blotter in the paper shows a lot more suspended sentences than jail time so I don't think she got any special treatment, at least by the standards of the courts in my area..

I think she was targetted because of who she is. I hate drunk drivers but I've never heard of one being sent to jail on a first or second offense. Must be from the state your in, i am originally from Minnesota and i saw people who were first time offenders get 30 days. By the 5th offense, they no longer have a drivers license nor are they eligible to ever get it back and that goes with a yr -1day jail sentence. (if sentenced to a year they have to go to state prison but anything less is county jail time). If she was targetted obviously it didnt work, shes out of jail.

I've never heard of one being sent to jail on a first or second offense that is what pisses me off think they should be locked up first time, i hate reading in the papers...DUI 3rd or 4th offense, pled down to DUI 1st

I have to agree with NEWGUY. I've always thought DWI should draw stiffer fines right from the first offense but I never see it happen. I've been wondering why she got jail time on a first offense. Nobody else has around my neck of the woods. Please don't take this to mean that I like or feel sorry for her.

I think first offense of most minor crimes should get a break because we
are all human after all. However, far too many innocent people have been
splattered all over the road by repeat offending drunks and drug addicts so
second offense should draw a VERY harsh penalty although the guillotine may
be pushing the envelope sightly.

Anytime you get behind the wheel of a car after you've been drinking excessively is premeditated murder. Alcohol impairs not only your judgment, but your reflexes as well. There shouldn't be any fines or 1 day jail sentences! Everyone knows what could happen if you're driving drunk! Someone Dies!

Finally, I know someone who agrees with me. Once you have buried a close friend who was out patrolling (he was a deputy sheriff) you want everyone who drives intoxicated locked up. By the way the woman that hit him in a head on collusion was not only drunk, but had been out of jail 2 days after serving time for vehiclur manslaughter. Two lives she took because she chose to drive drunk!! Thanks Giggl_Sprite.

OH man.. don't get me started. This F$%king piece of human garbage should be exterminated. She stands for everything rancid in America.. from EXCESS to being a whore, to the fact that the sheep in America flock to her and keep her in television..
I see more and more how vapid this country is and how horrible the culture is turning it makes me sick anymore to live here..
Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to start wrapping a diaper around my head and strap bombs to my chest, but if I ever came into money, I'd move the hell away from all the people, to a real quiet place in somewhere America.. Some place that "reality TV" doesn't come in, some place that "road rage" isn't a factor, and someplace where I can breathe...
Granted, it's nice to have the freedom to vent like this, but sometimes I wonder..

I the rich and famous are treated differently from the rest. Also they can afford the best lawyers, so that helps. It's not fair but that's the way it is. Did anyone say life is fair.
