If only I wasn’t so foolish
If only I had a heart
To tell you how I feel
Without pushing us apart

If only I wasn’t so frustrated
If only I could see the rage
Of expressing the emotion I feel
With writing on a page

If only I wasn’t so careless
If only I could find the path
That spans the entire world
And leads me to your hearth

If only I wasn’t so selfish
If only you could see the light
One that should be nurtured
To keep it burning bright


I don't profess to be a writer
I don't profess to be a poet
But I've got the feeling inside
And can't find the words to show it

It isn’t that I don’t want it
Time will tell what we should do
To break the barriers in our way
And find the path that is right for us


Whatever that may be
