Woo! Blog entry! Anyways, serious time.
For about six years I've had the idea of "What would it be like to have sentient robots around to help mankind through their struggles?". You know, past the over used machine kills man plots that movies have :P I've been reading up on the human psyche to see how man itself evolves mind wise and to estimate what the outcome would be should a robot be built with the ability to feel, think, and choose it's own life style. Yep, I'm that big of a tech nerd :P But yeah, the outcome that I can see so far is... dangerous. Highly dangerous.
For example, we humans thought that it was right to kill children we did not want on a whim (I mean a kid about 2 years old or so) and use it's bones as structure for homes that we would build soon after to support it's endurance capability and to bring "Good future" to the ones inside.... And by the way, this was large scaled. Not just an area who decided to do this. From just seeing this when I started reading up on the human psyche and related subjects, I realized that giving free thought and will to something that has no idea how the world works out what good morales are can bring great danger.
But, if one was to implant the capabilities of free thought into robotics, the result could end in a positive outcome if the creator him/herself were to show the great side in life. More or less like having a child. But made from metal <_<. I honestly think that mankind will sooner or later turn to technology of the sort as well, but I'm not sure if we would have the best minds behind it. While I see a future of much hope from a creation of the sort (No. Not a robotic date :P), others would see the next mass produced weapon to fight wars with and compete with in an arms race.
... And thus, you see how much my mind bounces around when I go into a subject. More and more ideas come to mind and more statements and hypothesis come as well. Maybe I should lay off the books for awhile or something.
