Do any of you have any songs that you would like to share that you hold close to your heart?
I have several, but one song in particular I hold very close. It’s an old song, but it’s come back on CMT lately. Hank Jr. sings “A Country Boy Can Survive”.
Now, I had a bad spell in my life, I thought I had hit rock bottom. I didn’t think I was ever going to get better. It was only a state of mind. Now I blame the problem on some medication that I was on, but couldn’t see that at the time.
I’ve always liked “A Country Boy Can Survive”, but when I heard this song while I had my problem, I listened to it a little deeper and thought, You know what, I am strong, I can pull through this. When ever I would listen, it would give me the strength I needed to carry on.
And now I hold this song close, it really means something to me.

I sold what I could, and packed what I couldn't. Stopped to fill up on my way out of town. I loved like i should, and lived like a shouldn't. And I had to lose everything to find out. Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road. I'm movin on.....

I'm a country man myself, but just the other day, my girl played Joe Cocker " You are so beautiful", and came into the bathroom just as was I getting out of the shower. She pushed me down on the toilet and litteraly raped me right there. She looked me in the eyes and sang some of it to me while she was grinding herself on me deep, slow, and oh so passionately. Needless to say Joe Cocker made a tune that is etched in my mind for all time. God I love music!!!
