Anyone who's ever been single and lived alone at times probably has come up with some 'unique' ways to deal with things. But who would have ever thought of using a coffeemaker for making Instant Soup? Or Instant mashed potatos? or a old peculator to cook things OTHER than coffee, like cucumbers? or used dishwashers to clean/cook fish and meats? There probably is a blog or forum on here that has this kind of stuff but you've got to admit... when bored, ANYTHING can happen! Lol! Do any of you have some 'unique' cooking tips and tricks that you've found that work for you? One place I read had a person use a little coffee in a humidifier so that when they woke up in the morning, they had that light coffee feeling! Lol! I'd hate to see what would happen if they used Red Bull in a humidifier!

I have always used a toaster to light a cigarette in the middle of the night. I always have money reserved for a new microwave if the old one goes out and I make sure tv dinners are always around.

I despise the taste of coffee. My Mr. Coffee makes hot tea.

I use the microwave more than anything else to heat a cup of water for tea, instant coffee, soup, leftovers, canned and frozen vegetables, TV dinners. I know that's not weird at all, but I have heard of people putting food items on top of the car engine block to heat them up for the road, never tried that though.

When we were teenagers in our private school dorm, we used to make grilled cheese sandwiches with our iron.
They were pretty damn good, too!

When I was in college, we had the best room in the dorms, we were always cooking something. We even fried chicken and french fries in our popcorn popper!! The guys were always coming by to see what was "on the stove". We'd bake Pillsbury dough cookies and bisquits from a can in the toaster oven, there'd be cocoa in the hot pot, and like MonkeyWoman said, can always iron you up a nice grilled cheese!! Anything was better than cafeteria food!!

It can take a while, but we used to cook pasta in the coffee pot of a coffee maker. We put the pasta in the pot and ran a pot of water on it and let it sit. This worked best for angel hair pasta. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures! LOL
